Detox Green Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe avocado (peeled and pitted)
  • 1 medium cucumber (peeled and chopped)
  • 1 cup fresh spinach (packed)
  • 1 medium apple (cored and chopped, leave skin on if organic)
  • 1 cup cold water (adjust more or less for consistency)
  • Juice of ½ lemon (optional, for brightness)
  • 4–5 ice cubes (optional, for a chilled smoothie)

Instructions

  1. Prepare all ingredients: peel and pit the avocado, chop the cucumber, and core the apple.
  2. Add ½ of the avocado, cucumber, apple, and spinach to your blender with the water. Blend until smooth.
    • If your blender is small, do this in batches as mentioned in the video.
  3. Add the remaining avocado, spinach, and any leftover ingredients. Blend again until smooth and creamy.
  4. Taste the smoothie. If you prefer more tartness, squeeze in the lemon juice. For a cooler texture, add the ice cubes and blend once more.
  5. Pour into a tall glass or jar and serve immediately.

Optional Add-Ins

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds or flax seeds (extra fiber and omega-3s)
  • ½ inch fresh ginger root (anti-inflammatory kick)
  • 1 teaspoon honey or agave (if you prefer a sweeter taste)
