Detox Green Smoothie Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 ripe avocado (peeled and pitted)
- 1 medium cucumber (peeled and chopped)
- 1 cup fresh spinach (packed)
- 1 medium apple (cored and chopped, leave skin on if organic)
- 1 cup cold water (adjust more or less for consistency)
- Juice of ½ lemon (optional, for brightness)
- 4–5 ice cubes (optional, for a chilled smoothie)
Instructions
- Prepare all ingredients: peel and pit the avocado, chop the cucumber, and core the apple.
- Add ½ of the avocado, cucumber, apple, and spinach to your blender with the water. Blend until smooth.
- If your blender is small, do this in batches as mentioned in the video.
- Add the remaining avocado, spinach, and any leftover ingredients. Blend again until smooth and creamy.
- Taste the smoothie. If you prefer more tartness, squeeze in the lemon juice. For a cooler texture, add the ice cubes and blend once more.
- Pour into a tall glass or jar and serve immediately.
Optional Add-Ins
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds or flax seeds (extra fiber and omega-3s)
- ½ inch fresh ginger root (anti-inflammatory kick)
- 1 teaspoon honey or agave (if you prefer a sweeter taste)
